# 4RSS — Minimal RSS Reader, 4 Feeds > 4RSS is a minimalist RSS reader for iPhone with exactly four feed slots. Pick the four sources you really care about, open the app and read. No accounts, no tracking, no endless inbox. This file is the long version of https://4rss.app.robspace.de/llms.txt. The website is the source; if anything here differs, the website and its privacy policy (https://4rss.app.robspace.de/#privacy) apply. ## Key Facts - Developer: Robert Poetzsch (robspace), Hofheim am Taunus, Germany - Platform: iPhone, iOS 26.1 or later - Price: free; AI summaries use the user's own API key, and the AI provider may charge for API usage - Version: 2.5 (English, German, French, Spanish and Italian) — in the App Store, released 2026-10-05 - App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6756433329 - Website: https://4rss.app.robspace.de/ (five languages: ?lang=en|de|fr|es|it) - Contact: support@robspace.de ## Features (App Store description, version 2.5) ### Four feeds, one tap away Add up to four RSS or Atom feeds. Each one lives in a slot in the bottom bar with its own icon and an unread counter. Tap a slot to load its articles. Long-press a slot to edit or delete the feed. Choose which feed opens when the app starts. The limit of four is deliberate: it keeps your reading calm. ### Read without detours Tap an article and it opens right away in the built-in browser. Share the link with the iOS share sheet. Pull down to refresh, and see when the feed was last updated. ### Keep track Articles you open are marked as read, unread ones stand out in the list. One tap on the checkmark marks the whole feed as read. Star articles as favorites and filter the list to see only those. Favorites stay even if you change a feed. ### AI summaries (beta, optional) Short on time? Let an AI summarize an article in a few lines, create a short snippet to share, or get a summary of today's or this week's news in the current feed. Summaries are written in the app's language. You use your own API key from Claude (Anthropic), OpenAI, Google Gemini or Mistral and choose the model. Copy or share the result with one tap. The feature is off until you add a key, and you can delete the saved key for each provider at any time (Remove Key). ### Your privacy No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. 4RSS has no server. Your feeds, read status, favorites and settings stay on your iPhone, and your API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain. To be clear about what the app does contact: the feed servers you add, the websites of articles you open or have summarized, and the website of each feed to load its icon (only that host). If you use AI summaries, the app asks for your consent once per provider and loads the article pages itself. It then sends titles, dates and article text (for a news summary, up to ten articles plus further titles and the feed name, but no links) to the provider you picked, under that provider's terms. Without a key, nothing is sent to any AI provider. ### Five languages 4RSS speaks English, German, French, Spanish and Italian and follows your iPhone's language. To change it, use the Language row in the app's settings. ### Also - Always-dark design in warm amber - Reports, ideas and questions go straight to the robspace community hub on GitHub from Settings - Privacy policy one tap away in Settings - Made for iPhone From robspace: independent app development with a focus on simplicity and privacy. ## Privacy 4RSS has no server of its own, no user account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs; the developer receives none of the user's data. Feeds, read status, favorites, a seven-day article cache and settings are stored only on the device; API keys are kept in the iOS Keychain. The app connects only to: the feed addresses the user entered; the web pages of articles the user opens or has summarized; and the feed's own server to load its icon (first /favicon.ico, otherwise the icon named on that server's start page; from version 2.5 no third-party icon service is used). AI summaries are optional and off by default: they work only with the user's own API key for Claude (Anthropic), OpenAI, Google Gemini or Mistral, and before anything is sent to a provider for the first time the app shows what will be sent and asks for agreement once per provider. For a summary the app sends the article title, date and up to about 5,000 characters of text (about 3,000 for a mini-summary for sharing); for a news summary the feed name, the period, titles, dates and up to about 2,000 characters of text of up to ten articles plus titles and dates of further articles; the request also names the app language. No links, no other feeds and no device identifiers are sent. The provider's own terms and privacy policy apply. To stop using AI, set the provider to "None" under Settings → AI Features → AI Configuration; a saved key is deleted there with "Remove Key". ## FAQ ### Why only four feeds? The limit of four is deliberate: it keeps your reading calm. Pick the four sources you really care about. To change or replace a feed, touch and hold its slot in the bottom bar. ### Do I need an account? Does 4RSS track me? No. 4RSS has no server of its own, no user account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your feeds, read status, favorites and settings stay on your iPhone. The app connects only to the feeds and web pages you choose and, if you use AI summaries, to the AI provider you select. The details are in the privacy policy. ### How do AI summaries work? They are optional and stay off until you add an API key from your own account with Claude (Anthropic), OpenAI, Google Gemini or Mistral under Settings → AI Features → AI Configuration. Before anything is sent to a provider for the first time, 4RSS shows what will be sent and asks for your agreement once per provider. Summaries are written in the app's language. Summaries are AI-generated and may not always be accurate. ### How do I stop using AI or remove my API key? Go to Settings → AI Features → AI Configuration and set the provider to “None”. There you can also delete a saved key with “Remove Key”. To revoke a key for good, delete it in your account with the provider. ### How do I change the language? 4RSS follows your iPhone's language. In the app, tap Settings → Language; this opens the iOS Settings for 4RSS. If there is no Language row there, first add the language under General → Language & Region. ### Is 4RSS free? Yes, 4RSS is free on the App Store. AI summaries use your own API key; API usage may incur costs based on your provider's pricing. ### Where can I get help? Write to support@robspace.de, or report a bug, suggest a feature or join the discussions in the robspace community hub on GitHub; in the app you find it under Settings → Community & Feedback. ## Version History - **2.5** (October 2026) — Five languages: 4RSS now speaks English, German, French, Spanish and Italian; The app follows your iPhone's language.
